Small business in Utah
Utah's small businesses are heavy on construction, home services and real estate, driven by growth along the Wasatch Front and in St. George, plus tech and professional firms in the Silicon Slopes area around Lehi, ski-season businesses in Park City, and outdoor-tourism outfitters near the national parks.
According to the SBA Office of Advocacy's 2025 profile of Utah, the sectors with the most small employers are construction and the trades, professional services such as law, accounting, engineering and consulting, health care, including medical, dental and therapy offices, retail shops and real estate and property management.
Where Ava helps Utah businesses
- Builders and home services. Contractors, landscapers and pest control companies can have Ava capture new requests while crews are working.
- Ski and park tourism. Park City rentals and national-park outfitters can send peak-season calls to Ava.
- Real estate teams. Agents can have Ava answer listing calls and book showings where calendars connect.

Recording calls in Utah
One-party consent. Utah Code § 77-23a-4 prohibits intercepting communications but allows a party, or someone with one party's prior consent, to record, unless the purpose is criminal or tortious. Utah is a one-party consent state.
Utah businesses often get calls from Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming. Of those, Nevada requires all-party consent or has unsettled rules, which is one more reason to give a notice at the start.
Ava always says she's an AI. If your setup records calls, the script we draft adds a short recording notice to her greeting, and you approve the wording. Interstate calls can be tricky; see the state-by-state overview.
Time zones and after-hours coverage
Utah runs on Mountain Time. We set Ava's business-hours and after-hours scripts to your local Utah time, so early-morning and late-night callers still reach someone.
