What Ruby offers, in its own words
Summarized from Ruby's public website, checked November 3, 2026. Follow each source link for current details.
- Live, people-powered answering. Ruby's homepage describes "people-powered virtual receptionists," and its plans list 24/7 live answering, including nights, weekends and holidays. Source
- Plans by receptionist minutes. Ruby's pricing page says the only difference between its plans is the number of receptionist minutes. Source
- Bilingual answering. Ruby lists 24/7 Spanish and bilingual call handling as available. Source
- Live chat for websites. Ruby sells website live chat plans, staffed by its receptionists, alone or bundled with calls. Source
- Healthcare and payments. Its plan features list HIPAA-compliant services, payment collection and optional AI enhancements. Source
How RaheemAI differs
- An AI that says it's an AI. Ava doesn't pretend to be a person. Some owners prefer that honesty; others want a human voice. Ruby gives you the human; we give you the AI, clearly labeled.
- Not measured in receptionist minutes. Because Ava is software, a long call isn't a receptionist's time. Our plan is a set monthly price ($249, or $199 for founding clients) rather than a count of receptionist minutes.
- Set up around your scripts. A.R. writes Ava's scripts with you and you approve them. When something changes, like holiday hours or a new service, tell us and we update it.
- Automation after the call. We can also set up instant email replies to web forms, follow-ups and review requests, so leads don't stall once the call ends.

When Ruby may be the better fit
We'd rather you pick the right service than the wrong one. Ruby may suit you better if:
- You want every caller to reach a live person, not an AI.
- You need bilingual or Spanish-language answering today.
- You want staffed live chat on your website (RaheemAI doesn't offer website chat).
- Your practice needs HIPAA-compliant handling from day one. We don't claim our standard service is HIPAA compliant.
What RaheemAI includes
- Ava is an AI receptionist, and she says so at the start of every call and again if a caller asks.
- We set her up for you. A.R. learns how your business handles calls, writes the scripts with you, and you approve every script before Ava answers a real call.
- You keep your current number. Most businesses forward only busy, unanswered or after-hours calls, so your phone still rings first.
- Each call Ava answers ends with an email summary: who called, their number and what they need.
- Beyond the phone, we set up lead capture and automation: instant email replies to web forms, follow-ups, review requests and CRM intake.
- We're a New Jersey company, so you can reach the person who set up your system.
Read more on how it works, automations and the 14-day free trial (no credit card).
Switching, step by step
- Pull your last month of call notes from your current service and highlight the calls that needed real judgment.
- Decide which calls Ava should take (for example, after-hours and overflow) and which should still reach a person.
- Start the 14-day trial; we build Ava's scripts around those rules.
- Run test calls, then forward only the call types you picked.
- Keep or cancel your current service according to its own terms once you've seen how Ava handles real calls.
