Small business in Florida
Florida's small businesses are built around homes, health and visitors: pool, HVAC, roofing and pest control companies statewide, property managers and real estate teams handling seasonal residents, dental and medical offices serving retirees, and restaurants and tour operators in Orlando, Miami and along both coasts. Hurricane season brings sudden spikes in calls for roofers, tree crews and restoration companies.
According to the SBA Office of Advocacy's 2025 profile of Florida, the sectors with the most small employers are professional services such as law, accounting, engineering and consulting, construction and the trades, health care, including medical, dental and therapy offices, repair and personal services such as auto repair, salons and dry cleaners and retail shops.
Where Ava helps Florida businesses
- Recording notice in the greeting. Because Florida requires all-party consent, Ava's greeting can include a recording notice when your setup records calls, right alongside her AI disclosure.
- Hurricane-season surges. After a storm, Ava can take damage reports, addresses and callback numbers so your team can work through them in order.
- Seasonal residents. Snowbirds call to restart pool, lawn and home-watch services. Ava takes the details and books where your calendar connects.

Recording calls in Florida
All-party consent. Florida is an all-party consent state. Florida Statutes § 934.03 prohibits intercepting any wire, oral or electronic communication, and allows it only when all parties have given prior consent (with narrow exceptions). If you record calls with Florida customers, tell callers at the start.
Florida businesses often get calls from Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. Those states also use one-party consent for calls, though a caller from an all-party state like California can still reach your local number.
Ava always says she's an AI. If your setup records calls, the script we draft adds a short recording notice to her greeting, and you approve the wording. Interstate calls can be tricky; see the state-by-state overview.
Time zones and after-hours coverage
Time zones in Florida: Eastern Time for most of the state; the western Panhandle (west of the Apalachicola River) uses Central Time. If you operate in more than one zone, Ava's after-hours script can follow each location's local time.
